Who is behind The Flow of Dharam?

You might be curious and wonder who is behind it all, who’s idea was it to start this website, who will be teaching you and who is prepping these delicious recipes. Well, it is me, Dharam Kaur Muscas and this is my first Blog post.

Some of you might know me from a while back from France where I grew up, from Miri Piri Academy in India or from Italy where I now live. The truth is I have been moving around quite a lot and I hope I still will in the future as traveling is one of my favourite things to do (please covid go home already we don’t want you anymore)!

I have been into Kundalini Yoga for my entire life, *thanks mom and dad*, even though at first I pretty much hated it. But as time passed by and especially when I went to Miri Piri Academy also know as MPA, I learned more about it and I started appreciating it a lot. If you don’t know what Miri Piri Academy is, feel free to go check the part where I talk about it in the About Me page and if you still have questions let me know by texting me!

Kundalini Yoga and meditation have always been for me a great way to get to know myself more, to break patterns I don’t desire anymore and to do something for me, it is necessary to be a little selfish once in a while! It has also helped me take difficult decisions in life when I was unsure by reconnecting me to my essence.

When I was younger, my mom would always force me to go to one of her classes at least once a week, because, I quote her “You should see your face and how bright you shine afterwards” . Even though it would be such a struggle for me every time I swear I didn’t want to go, I can’t deny I always felt great at the end. I am a 100% sure that this has given me such a strong and valuable base in life and I only now realise it.

Following to that, I tried Miri Piri Academy for one day while visiting India with my dad, it was love at first sight . I ended up deciding that day that I would do my High School there. Fast forward to 2 years later, we’re in August 2014, I am a 14 years old going on this crazy wild adventure to the unknown. I can’t tell you how I felt my first week there, I just wanted to go back to my cosy home with that nice summer weather surrounded by people that spoke my language, but here I was, surrounded by people that spoke English, a weather that is so humid and hot and a campus I didn’t know. I can’t complain now, because these 3 years were some of the best of my life and I would do it all over again if I could.

At this special school I saw more explicitly the effects Kundalini Yoga and meditation had and I started to willingly choose meditations to do as a personal practice. Graduating from Miri Piri Academy in 2017, I was given my Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Diploma which gives me the opportunity to teach to you today.

During the past 3 years, 2018-2019-2020, I have lived in 3 different countries, France, Germany and now Italy. I completed a year of High School in France again to receive my Baccalauréat and then moved to Germany. I realised that it wasn’t the right place for me to be so I moved again to Rome, where I live now. I took up studying Interpretation and Translation, in other words: languages, at University just to realise after a year that it wasn’t the right path for me. And here I am, dedicating my time to teaching Yoga and sharing recipes with all of you.

I would never change the process of it all because even if I took “wrong” decisions sometimes, or certain paths to then realise it wasn’t the correct one for me, every single choice I made brought me an experience and a better understanding of the person I am today. My main goal through The Flow of Dharam is to share with you how to get to know yourself better and to conquer your fears so that you can be your true self, because you deserve it and the world deserves to see how great, special and unique you are.
